This is an octagonal Wa Style Handle made for Japanese style kitchen
Kingwood - So named from several French kings (Louis XIV and Louis XV) in the 17th and 18th centuries that preferred the wood in the use of fine furniture. Kingwood is considered atrue rosewood in the Dalbergia genus, and is among the densest of all rosewoods.
Suited for a 165-210 mm gyuto or other Japanese knife.
