This is a Kurouchi iron clad white No 1 blade with a walnut handle. It is hand forged from the blacksmith Tadayoshi Kajiwara-San. Grind is from Abe-San, formally the lead sharpener for Yoshimi Kato. The heat treatment is excellent, coming in at 63-64 HRC. White Steel No 1 is easily sharpened and takes on a screaming edge.
As this is an all reactive knife, care must be taken to avoid rust. Please clean immediately after use and wipe down with a cloth.
