This is an octagonal Wa Style Handle made for Japanese style kitchen knives.

The body is made from Brazilian Kingwood, one of the most regal and densest of rosewoods.  

Handle is sealed and buffed to natural luster 

Use and care - Hand wash and dry - Never put in dishwasher nor leave in hot soapy water.
