Custom Japanese Knife Handle (Wa Handle) - Spalted Mango Burl and Sonoran Desert Ironwood

This is an octagonal Wa Style Handle made for Japanese style kitchen knives.

The body is made with Spalted Indonesian Mango Burl with Sonoran Desert Ironwood ferrule. The spacers are bronze and G10.

Medium sized, it is suited for a 165-210 Japanese knives. For its size, this handle has some weight, so it might not be suitable for smaller thinner knives.

Weight: 58g, Length: 128.0mm (5.1")

Handle is sanded to 800 grit and then coated in 5-6 coats of sealer for longer protection.

Care :

  • Hand wash with soapy water and towel dry.
  • Do not put in dishwasher, nor soak in water for long periods of time.
  • Oil on a fairly regular basis, or sand with 0000 steel wool and reapply a sealer like tru-oil as needed.
