This is an shield Wa Style Handle made for Japanese style kitchen knives.

The body is made with an Itauba body and Brazilian Ebony ferrule

SWARTZIA STIPULIFERA - Also called Brazilian ebony is not a true ebony. 

Itauba is a nice durable wood with a grippy feel

Suited for a 210 mm  gyuto or other Japanese knife.

Weight 43g  Length 135 mm   (5 5/8”)

Handle is buffed and sealed 

Use and care - Hand wash and dry - Never put in dishwasher nor leave in hot soapy water.
