Custom Japanese Knife Handle (Wa Handle) - Burnt Curly Ash with Bronze Inlay and Buffalo Horn

This is an octagonal Wa Style Handle made for Japanese style kitchen knives.

The body is made with Burnt Curly Ash with bronze inlay and buffalo horn. Reconstituted onyx stone and brass spacers.

Medium sized, it is suited for 240mm Japanese knives. I had a 240-270 sugihiki mind when creating this handle, so it is cut a little thinner than usual. 

Weight: 40g Length: 138.3mm (5.5")

Handle is sanded to 800 grit then coated in 5-6 coats of sealer for longer protection.

Care :

  • Hand wash with soapy water and towel dry.
  • Do not put in dishwasher, nor soak in water for long periods of time.
  • Oil on a fairly regular basis, or sand with 0000 steel wool and reapply a sealer like tru-oil as needed.
